Este es mi artefacto digital
Haciendo un recorrido gráfico de lo acontecido en este curso, me gustaría destacar: 1- El uso de twitter en el aula ya que creo que tiene un potencial espectacular
2- La creacion de un directorio de webs con Symbaloo
3- Evaluación de trabajos de compañeros

Health and Disease. CLIL Aproach

This unit is included in the curriculum of the subject “Biology and Geology” (3º ESO).
In this unit we will introduce important concepts related to heath and disease that will provide important and applicable knowledge about what happen inside our bodies when they are ill and how we protect and fight against pathogens.
The main objectives are:
  • Define health and disease and types of diseases depending on the agent that causes the disease.
  • Explain what agents cause infectious diseases and how they are transmitted.
  • Know the different mechanisms of transmission.
  • Explain how organisms defend against infectious diseases.
  • Understand the function of vaccines and antibiotics.
  • Explain the influence of healthy habits in the prevention of diseases.
In order to reach these objectives I´ve divided the unit in four tasks
Task 1- Initial activity where students have to discuss in pairs the vocabulary they know about the unit. Then all together elaborate a brainstorm with the vocabulary related to this unit and the correct pronunciation.


In 10 minutes students will discuss what they know about concepts related to the topic. After that we´ll project a presentation where main concepts are included- At the end of the presentation there is a video where students can improve the listening skills. With this activity we´ll link with task 2.
Task 2- Listening activity about the main factors that affect health and after that, associate each one with a picture. (30 minutes)
After the video, student will work in pairs with an interactive test to reinforce what they learnt.
We´ll finish this activity with an oral activity where students have to associate a picture with some factors learned in the video.

Task 3- Read a text about the different pathogenic organism and elaborate a table including the basic information. After that, students have to complete some activities. (1 session – individually)
Now is time to work with a text to improve listen and comprehension skills. After reading the text, there´s some exercise to scaffold everything they´ve learnt.

Now it´s time to learnt in a funny way with an interactive activity on line “shooting some key concepts.


        Final Task - Elaborate a presentation about important diseases like Malaria,    Cancer, Heart diseases, sexual transmission diseases.(writing and oral       exposition) (3 sessions_ groups of four).
